GIS plotting of the residences of all IAFF members in the area affected by Hurricane Florence.
I am sure all of you have been following the news reports with respect to Hurricane Florence and how it is affecting the areas in its path.
We have been in contact with IAFF 1st District VP Jim Slevin and have offered whatever assistance that may be needed. At this time, the hurricane is slamming a wide area and its exact impact on specific places, IAFF members or Locals remains unclear. As we have done in the past, we will stay in communication with the IAFF and the state association presidents in areas affected by the hurricane. When we are advised as to specific needs, the PFANJ will respond as best we can. This was the same protocol followed when IAFF members from Louisiana were affected by floods.
The IAFF has established two IAFF command centers in the affected areas, and these command centers are in contact with the IAFF District Vice Presidents. 1st DVP Slevin will keep the PFANJ updated and we will relay information as it becomes available.
This is an active event with rapidly changing situations. As the IAFF's state association in New Jersey, we will advise our PFANJ Locals as to the needs of our brothers and sisters as soon as we are made aware of what they are.
