On October 19, 2020, PFANJ 1st Vice President Tony Tarantino testified in Trenton in support of State Senate Bill S487 - the Marino “Rookie Bill”. This bill "enhances PFRS accidental death pension for surviving spouse by providing for minimum of $50,000 annually" and was released from committee unanimously. The PFANJ is working closely with State Senate President Steve Sweeney to continue to move the bill and are hopeful it will head for a vote soon and that the State Assembly will also introduce a version of the bill.
